Qatar and Turkey's economic connections have prospered over the last two decades, with both FDI inflows and bilateral trade volume increasing dramatically.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani visited Istanbul on October 14 to co-chair the 8th Session of the Türkiye-Qatar Supreme Strategic Committee with President Recep Tayyip Erdoan as part of the efforts of both countries to advance bilateral relationships.

As a framework for high-level discussion, the sessions of the Turkey-Qatar Supreme Strategic Committee began in Doha in 2014 and rotate annually between the two nations. The bilateral trade volume between the two nations increased by more than 100 percent from 2016 to 2020 as a result of these agreements.
